This is a disappointing but not altogether surprising read. The line that struck us most was: “I feel like in the UK, some venues feel like they’re doing you a favour just by putting you on.” It echos the feelings of many of our mentees when they are job hunting – that they should somehow feel grateful for being offered a job.
